HSCeNews Communication

The primary focus of our web site is to promote communication between the various groups that support the work of the Hôpital Sainte Croix. We have three avenues that enable this to happen. One is, of course, the web site itself. The second is the Yahoo! Discussion group affiliated with this site. The third avenue is our HSCe Blog. Each route has its own purpose. Let’s take a moment to compare them.

The discussion group (HSCeNews at Yahoo!) provides immediate and broad based communication with the members of the discussion group. Questions, messages, announcements and general information can be easily and quickly posted to the members of the group. This also allows the members of the group to join in the exchange of information. The only requirement is that you take a few moments to join the discussion group, before you can post messages.

The HSCe Blog provides an avenue for longer messages but they can be posted quicker than changes to the web site. These may be news items or opinions. Initial entries in the blog can only be made by invited authors. All visitors can read and comment on the messages posted in the blog. Comments are reviewed before they are published.

Select information will be posted on this web site from time-to-time. We recommend that information be submitted to the discussion group first. News, information or other articles can be selected from the discussion group for inclusion on the web site. Emphasis will be placed on articles directly related to HSC Support Network information, the hospital, and its programs. Other information will be included as time and space permit.

Communicating Through
the Discussion Group

You can post messages to the HSCeNews group by email or from the Yahoo!Groups web site as described below. In either case you must first join the discussion group in order to post messages to the group.

Via E-mail

To send a message to other group members, create an email and address it to hscenews@yahoogroups.com.

Note: you can only post to groups you've joined, and only from email addresses registered with Yahoo! Groups. If you misspell the name of a group, or attempt to send an email from an account other than the one you joined under, your message will not be delivered. If you receive a failure notice, check your email addresses and try again.

Via the Yahoo! Groups Web Site

After you've signed in, go to the group you wish to post to, and click Post, write your message, and then click Send Message. You can sign in at Yahoo!Groups HSCeNews

Note: In either case Yahoo! Groups restricts messages to one megabyte(1MB) in size to prevent abuse.
